"WEVA - Women's Empowerment in Vocational Activities" - an
initiative dedicated to providing women across Mumbai with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities to thrive independently in various daily activities, with the ultimate goal of increasing female participation in the overall workforce in the country.
The Problem
Women and girls are getting abused in all sorts of ways
Women are at high risk of danger when in public
Proposed Solution
With a mission to break the cycle of dependence and empower women, "WEVA" collaborates with NGOs based in Mumbai to offer vocational skill training. Through these partnerships, women are equipped with practical skills that enable them to explore new avenues, generate income, and enhance their self-sufficiency.
By focusing on vocational activities such as first aid, plumbing, marketing, arts and crafts, and tailoring, “WEVA" empowers women to harness their talents, pursue their passions, and contribute to their communities. From learning entrepreneurial skills to honing craftsmanship or acquiring digital literacy, this prototype presentation opens doors to economic independence, self-confidence, and a brighter future.
